About Union Bible Theological Seminary

Union Bible Theological Seminary was established in August of 1999 for the purpose of providing quality and affordable Biblical/Theological Degree Programs for those who labor in Ministry. We are a “non-denominational” institution of higher learning. However, we subscribe to, practice, teach, and preach the doctrines of the Christian Faith.

Accreditation:

Although the word “seminary” may imply graduate training for higher institutional learning, this Seminary has been established for the sole purpose of issuing credentials to men and women as certified, licensed, and ordained professional ministers.

Our emphasis is not to achieve secular accreditation, although we issue degrees for ministry purposes only. Our mission is to equip the minister with practical education for his/her ministry. We continue on this practical path as the means of fulfilling the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.

Non-Discriminatory Policy:

Union Bible Theological Seminary admits students of any race, age, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the University. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, age, color, national and ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic administered programs.

As an educational community affiliated with the Church, Union Bible Theological Seminary is committed to developing a safe and open living and working environment for a diverse community of students, faculty, and staff. For academic and social integrity, UBTS encourages an environment of respect for all people and diverse beliefs, and it maintains a policy of nondiscrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability in the employment and advancement of UBTS staff. This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including, but not limited to, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation, and training.

Mission:

The Mission of Union Bible Theological Seminary is five-fold in nature. We strive to be on the forefront of providing quality and affordable programs of Biblical/Theological education and training while maintaining scriptural integrity and commitment to the empowerment and equipping of Five-Fold Ministers. Therefore, our Mission is as follows:

1. To provide programs of Biblical/Theological studies that stimulate, nurture, and empower our students

2. To maintain the truth and integrity of the principles, faith, and discipline initially provided to the Church by way of the Apostles

3. To provide programs of educational content that ignite, empower, and advance the Kingdom of God through the Five-Fold Ministries of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers

4. To provide our students with a means of acquiring the specific training and education needed to effectively minister to the people of God

5. To provide a spiritual atmosphere of Christian learning that is accessible to students despite geographical location

Financial Support:

UBTS is supported by the contributions of various interested individuals and congregations. Union Bible Theological Seminary enjoys a strong relationship with its supporting churches and ministries.

School Colors:

Union Bible Theological Seminary’s official school colors are Navy Blue and Gold

Orientation:

At the start of each session, new and transfer students are led in a period of orientation, the purpose of which is to ease the transition to Union Bible Theological Seminary by acquainting students with the mission, people, systems, and setting of Union Bible Theological Seminary.

Lectures:

All lectures, unless otherwise specified in the current course catalog are provided online via video and/or audio lectures. All students, faculty, and staff are required to utilize the Virtual Classroom for the completion of assignments, quizzes, exams, and lectures.

Submission of Coursework:

It is the student’s responsibility to submit the required coursework and assignments via email no later than 11:59 pm (midnight) on the first day of each week (Sunday). Failure to submit the required coursework will result in lower grades and the possibility of expulsion from the course. Habitual disregard for coursework submission policy will result in the student being expelled (indefinitely) from all classes for the session in which he/she is currently in.
